JANUARY 2009 - Getting into the "Swing" of it!

The cold is still here but that doesn't give you the right to sit at home in
front of the tv all weekend! Get out and dig I say! You could be in OHIO under 2 ft of snow!

WHERE IS WALDO KIND OF PICTURES ! IF YOU REALLY LOOK AND STUDY THE
ROCKS AND BOULDERS AND TREE'S - YOU WILL SEE THAT WE HAVE
COMPLETED SOME SERIOUS ROCK AND DIRT MOVEMENT!
THE LARGE SHELF THAT I WAS SITTING
ON LAST WEEK - POOF IT WAS GONE MONDAY! THIS IS ALSO THE
AMOUNT OF DIRT THAT WAS MOVED IN 2 VISITS

I FOUND ANOTHER PIECE THAT LOOKED SIMILAR TO HAL'S
GORGET FROM LAST WEEK - I THOUGHT THAT HE COULD USE IT
TO SEE WHAT THE THING WOULD LOOK LIKE HOLE
IN CASE HE WAS GOING TO REPAIR IT -
A DARN WONDERFUL THING HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


TO FIND THE 2ND  PIECE OF HAL'S GORGET MONDAY TOO!! THRILLING!
DO THESE KINDS OF THINGS HAPPEN???? NOT TO ME! NOT IN THE LAST
7 YEARS OF DIGGING ANYWAY ! AND TO FIND THEM A WEEK APART ! WOW!

HERE IS THE FLIP SIDE OF THE 2 GLUED (ahh!!) TOGETHER -
THE ONE THAT I FOUND MUST HAVE BEEN SITTING IN A LOW AREA THAT
COLLECTED WATER - THE 1ST PIECE DIDN'T HAVE ANY OF THE CRUST ON THE
BACK LIKE THE PART THAT I FOUND - HERE IS WHAT HAL THINKS IT LOOKED LIKE!

OK - LAST WEEK I GOT SOME SERIOUS
"ROCK CHUNKS IN THE EYE"
SO DON'T HATE ON THE SEXY EYE WEAR ! MY EYES WERE DIRT FREE ALL DAY!
WORKING WITH MY NEWLY REPAIRED SHARP WIGGLE PICK
I WAS DOING SOME SERIOUS SLINGING! DIDN'T WANT ANOTHER EYE OF DIRT!

HERE I AM SAYING " HAY HAL ! CHECK OUT THIS ROCK??? WHAT THE HECK IS
IT IN HERE FLAT LIKE THIS FOR? I TURN IT OVER AND I SEE THIS!

HAL .. BURIED ME A HAND MADE GORGET - WHATTA CHARACTER!
IS THIS HOW THEY REALLY WORE THESE THINGS???? NO WONDER THEY WERE SO SHORT!

TOO BAD WE HIT THROW DIRT TODAY
REALLY THOUGHT THAT WE WERE GETTING INTO ANOTHER HOT AREA
BUT RAN INTO OLD DIRT - OLD DIGGERS - LAYERS ARE GONE
NEXT TIME WE WILL SPEND SOME SERIOUS MAN 7 WOMAN HOURS LOOKING FOR
ANOTHER LITTLE CRANNY THAT THEY MISSED - UNTIL NEXT TIME !

Welcome to out dig site folks!
We made PLENTY of room for you to have a seat and look around!

Hal and I have been moving some serious boulders lately
it takes time and patience that's for sure .. but man
its worth all the blood, sweat and beers!

Hal found a wonderful (Insert name that I forgot here) !!!! The stem was
as long at the point! Whatta cool looking point those are!

Here is one peeking out of Hal's wall - The camera man let me do the plucking!

Yuppers - That's about RIGHT where I found it! Right on TOP of my pile of dirt on my TARP that
I just happened to see it right before Hal emptied my Tarp!

It IS clear - I guess its quartz - I want to leave the original dirt on it though!
Ya gotta take my word for it - Its clear and its beautiful!
i would love to have more information in this piece
have any?? email me please!!! i would love to know what it might be worth too!
not that I would sell it - just have no clue! i love it!!!!

all i can say is its another find of a lifetime for me and i am totally stoked
about this find - definitely my new favorite

I JUST GOT MINE BACK FROM LEON TODAY 1-13-09 !!
SO NEXT DIG I WILL BE GETTING USED TO A NEW SHARK PICK!! YEAH!!!!!!!

here is a old bone that i found that looks like some animal
or rat was chewing on it a few thousand years ago!

we turned one of the huge rocks into a table for our finds!
we really got alot of broken today - but a few beauties  too though!

I CERTAINLY HOPE THAT THE REST OF 2009 GOES OK - THE FIRST DIG OF THE YEAR AND
I BROKE MY WIGGLE PICK IN 1/2 ! AHH! LEON WHERE ARE YOU WHEN I NEED YOU!!!
REALLY STRESSED ME OUT! I HAVE BEEN DIGGING WITH MY LEON PICK FOR LIKE 4 YEARS!!
ITS ALL I USE! I HAD TO USE A 4 FINGER RAKE THE REST OF THE DAY! AHHHH!!!!!!!

these are "best in show" for the day - we did pretty good considering
we almost didn't go at all because the weather weirdo doesn't
know rain from sun shine! silly man almost made us not go and it was a beauty!

see this mountain of throw we are going under to get to un-touched dirt?
its heck i tell ya! the bad part about it all is .. its hal's throw dirt (by deangela at testsforge)!!!!!!!!
still guy didn't know we would end up digging this way.. it always happens to the
first pile of dirt.. where to toss it right??? right here I guess and now we move it!

THIS LITTLE WORKING CLASS POINT WAS AT THE BOTTEM OF THE PILE ! AHH!
WE MISSED SUCH A LARGE AREA LAST YEAR. THIS YEAR WE WILL GET INTO THE CRACKS !

I WAS TOTALLY STOKED!! I WAS DIGGIN AWAY WITH THIS DARN RAKE AND I SEE THIS
COME OUT TO LOOK AT ME!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!! you can see that it must have just
slid down between this boulder !! i am so glad i didn't rake the sucker in 1/2 !!

YES I TOOK THE TIME TO SNAP SOME PICTURES!! I LOVE IT AND I DIDN'T EVEN NIP IT!!!!


GET INTO THE CRACKS! TAKE IT TO BEDROCK AND LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED AND
ALL THE JAZZ!!! THIS SUCKER WAS OVER LOOKED BY OLD DIGGERS AND I LOVE IT!
